Welcome to our Breakout Art Group, we strive to inspire our group members and show them how they can develop their newly learned skills as artists and how this can make a difference in their lives. We want to provide an excellent service to enhance the lives of the underprivileged, minority and other disadvantaged groups in Athy and surrounding areas.

Our aim is to encourage communication, reduce stress by introducing skills that will, encourage self-esteem, support members, reflect confidence in the ability to exert control over ones own motivation, self-esteem, behaviour, and social environment.

We have lots of fun during our classes and we look forward to meeting everyone each week to measure our progression and have a nice catch-up among members – we hope you will join us and contribute to the creativity.

Breakout Art Group

During our time attending pottery classes we were encouraged to create our own art group through Zoom, this how the Breakout Art Group began. The name came about as we were all members of the Irish Wheelchair Association, cocooning during the Covid lockdowns, and these classes were our only breakout from our isolated surroundings.

Breakout Art Group became our only communication with each other and the outside world.
